CAHT-SouthShore’s February 19th general meeting will feature Cissy Boza Sevelin. Mrs. Sevelin has devoted most of her legal career to assisting families and victims of domestic violence. She serves as a volunteer teen court judge through the Juvenile Diversion Program, attorney ad litem for Crossroads for Florida Kids, Inc., and guardian ad litem in the Guardian Ad Litem Program. She also assists with Project H.E.L.P. (Homeless Experience Legal Protection).
Mrs. Sevelin has received numerous awards for her tireless efforts in helping children and teens, including the Are You Safe, Inc., Alberto Romero Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in September 2016, and the Rosemary Award – Proven Producer in March 2017. She will be presenting a power point talk about domestic violence and human trafficking and how they often go hand in hand.
CAHT’s general meetings start at 1 pm, but we have added a new feature; a social time with refreshments will start at 12:30, so come before the meeting to meet other CAHT members and review our hand-outs and join in the raffles, at the United Methodist Church in Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd W. and are open to the public.
